Although these processors have socket designs similar to the AMD-K6(r) family processors, heatsink solutions designed for AMD-K6 family processors should never be used. Most of these will not conform to the required
dimensions. The new exposed  flip-chip design of the PGA AMD Athlon and AMD Duron  processors requires a clip load between 12 and 24 pounds  (typically 16 pounds), a load that may not be met by most  older heatsink designs. A thermal compound, such as  thermal grease or phase-change material, must always be  applied between the processor die only and heatsink as well.  Typically, AMD recommended heatsinks will include the  thermal compound. AMD socket A processor must also NOT be powered up without a heatsink, they will burn up in 7 seconds and void your warranty. None functional processors with chipped die or broken components are not covered under warranty, sorry.

FICAZ11 Notes:  The CPU Host speed is marked incorrectly on board, settings are reversed, the manual is correct. If no post reverse the jumber to 133 setting on board...  If bios does not flash on the bios chip, disable the Bios Guardian in the bios settings. 

   

1. Onsite repairs

We can repair most computer problems with hardware or software using the lastest diagnostic programs available including microprocessor, motherboard, memory and other PC card failures. Problems with DOS and Windows operating system can also be isolated and repaired.

2. Mail order warranty service

Most items purchased on this web site are covered by 1 year or 3 year warranties. All return items must have an RMA number on the shipping label or may be refused. Fill out the RMA Request Form below for an RMA number, or call 954 726-9659 or email Service@lynncomp.com We can preship *warranty replacements at our discretion with a credit card authorization, however you will be billed if defective unit is not received within 15 days, or if the warranty is not honored by warranty provider. You can also return an item with an RMA number for warranty exchange. Please return all RMAs to: Lynn Computer Products, 8168 W McNab, North Lauderdale, FL  33068.  All returned products must be properly outer boxed, insured and returned with all accessories. Padded envelopes, paper wrapping and shipping motherboards without a protective outer box is not acceptable and may be returned unopened.  You must also include a problem description and disposition.  Warranty service does not normally include return shipping charges to us, only from us. Do not ship RMA back to us with postage due or Bill to recipient, the RMA will be refused, receiving has no method to pay. If you are due a shipping refund it will be refunded on your credit card, etc you purchased with per credit card regulations. If your shipping address has changed since ordering a RMA product, its your responsibility to inform us in writing by email or with RMA, we return to address on file otherwise.

Any product refused by the manufacturer's repair dept due to physical damage will be return to customer without repair and customer will be billed accordingly.

Note: please be aware before you flash your motherboard bios, that if it fails it is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. However, it can be repaired for $25-30 for a new bios chip including shipping, and we will be glad to provide this service on a billable basis.
